How to prepare for a photo session
HE, SHE is photogenic ...
Who of us has not sighed while watching photos of friends or famous people from newspapers: “he, she is beautiful and photogenic! I will never look like this! ”. In the era of social networks, we are surrounded by photos from all sides. We compare ourselves, we want to look beautiful and have beautiful photos. And it may be so. Everyone can look beautiful and have beautiful photos that will be a keepsake for a lifetime.
Pictures go to newspapers after many hours of preparation and processing in photoshop. A team of people work on the sessions, from the photographer, through the make-up artist, to the graphic designer and a whole army of assistants. The model itself also wants to do well because it is paid for or it is part of its promotion. So there is no chance that something will go wrong! It has to work and it does, and the end result is these beautiful photos that we sigh for. You too can have beautiful photos. Just take care of a few details and the impossible will become possible.
TIME ...
The most important factor in photography is light, so the best time to plan a session will be early morning or late afternoon, just before sunset. Of course, it is not always possible to schedule a session at the desired time. These are formal ceremonies where the daily schedule is very tight. Then we work with the available light. However, if we do not have a limited time frame, we should think about the time of day and determine the best time for your session.
ATTITUDE ...
Are you dreaming about a photo session but your loved ones do not share your enthusiasm? Attitude towards the session is crucial and will be reflected in the end result. There is nothing worse than the companions attending the photoshoot not wanting to do so. It gets nervous on the set, we start to rush, nothing works, in a word a disaster is guaranteed!
The camera will register sour faces and stiff poses and you will not want to see such photos later.
Talk to your loved ones and try to convince them that a photo session is not something terrible and you are able to focus for an hour to have a souvenir for life! Failed to convince? No problem. Give your partner time to think and postpone the session to a later date when you're all ready for it. Remember, the photographer is able to control the weather conditions, but not your mood;)
DETAILS ...
In the photo that we admire, everything really matters. So it's worth taking care of every detail. A hairstyle, makeup, styling, matching colors of clothes are just a few details of the whole session. It is worth cooperating with the photographer to determine the details. While you can take care of makeup and hairstyle, a photographer will help you choose the location and styling. If the session is to be held in your home, take care of your surroundings. Remember, every detail will be later seen in the photo.
THE FINAL RESULT ...
As I have already mentioned, the end result consists of many hours of work before, during and after the session. Determination, motivation and a good attitude are the key to success! If you are motivated, you take care of the details, you will work together so that there is no way something can go wrong. The rest is photoshop;) And the whole thing is fun! And that's how you should treat every photo session.
